Emily Faludy wins Prize for the 'Oils' Category at 'Paint Out Norwich'...

I was absolutely thrilled to receive the prize for the 'Oils' category at 'Paint Out Norwich' last week with my painting 'Morning Illumination'. The award was presented by revered Oil Painter John Wonnacott CBE at a Private View at the Hostry Gallery in Norwich. 'Paint Out Norwich' is the Uk's only juried entry plein air painting event, in which thirty seven artists are given a series of three hour sessions to paint designated areas of the city across three days, including two nocturnes and an open top bus trip to a vantage point outside the city. It was outrageously good fun, as well as being physically exerting! It was wonderful to have such an intense time period to dedicate to painting, and also to catch up with other painters working in a similar way to me. Many wonderful and surprising things happened over the course of the event, from my being interviewed for the local news (click here to view the news clip), to painting during an incredible sunset on the Monday evening due to the hurricane dust. Norwich is a truly beautiful city and I felt honoured to witness it in such spectacular Autumn weather...
